The Events Calendar - Styling Issue

Hi. I have recently installed The Events Calendar plugin by Modern Tribe on my website and I am unable to use their default styling (which I prefer) as there seems to be some CSS styling on the Creativo Template that I have installed that is overriding it. I used the Church demo as my template. This is the page I am working on - http://dev.shurniakartgallery.com/events/ and this is what the demo events calendar "should" look like (I also tested it on another site to make sure it wasn't the plugin having issues and it wasn't) https://wpshindig.com/events/list/. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Creativo comes with its own style for the Events Calendar plugin.

If you don't like it, you can do a small hack, but it requires you to connect via ftp and navigate to public_html/wp-content/themes/creativo/ once you are here there are two ways you can force the default styling of the plugin to kick in:

1. rename the tribe-events folder to tribe-events-old
2. or delete the folder tribe-events completely

the effect is the same, the plugin will load its own styling.

Thanks,
Stef

Hi. I tried doing this but it did not initiate the plugin to use its own styling. It still looks to be using the styling from the Creativo theme. I've talked to the Modern Tribe support group and they haven't been able to find a workaround to disable the Creativo styling that seems to be overriding the plugin's styling.

Hi again,

removing the template files indicated will inherit the plugin layout, but the actual css rules used might still be loaded from the Creativo style.css file.

There is no way to remove these rules without actually getting inside the style.css file of the theme - which I strongly recommend against because you may break your site completely and even if you do manage to get everything removed, on the future update of Creativo, you will have to redo these changes over and over again.

If that's okay with you then modify the style.css file located under wp-content/themes/creativo/

from line 12447 to line 12842, the actual styling for the Tribe Events plugin begins, see the first line below and the last:

Code: Select all

/* EVENTS CALENDAR */ .single-tribe_events .post_container, .tribe-events-style-theme .post_container { width:100%; }
last line:

Code: Select all

.sidebar-widget .hfeed .duration { font-size:12px; }
basically you have to remove everything from line 12447 to line 12842. After that the default styling will be inherited.
